In the current economic environment, as Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico strive to redefine themselves, innovation, entrepreneurism, and technology are constant themes among our strategies. Our panelists from Austin each made substantial investments in their economy that added to the success of Austin. They will discuss the efforts made over the years to reshape Austin, how each piece fits with the other in order to create a thriving economy that is more than the sum of its parts, and how Albuquerque can learn from the experience.
Hugh Forrest – South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival Director. This event brings together more than 30,000 digital creatives from across the United States and around the world.
Drew Scheberle – Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President for Talent and Workforce Development and State and Federal Advocacy.
Mellie Price – Long time entrepreneur and experienced senior manager including Front Gate Tickets. Price is currently the Managing Director of the Capital Factory co-working/incubator in Austin.
Danielle Duran – Local Government and Community Engagement manager for the Albuquerque metro area for PNM. Danielle is responsible for the Innovation Network, including the Innovation Speaker Series.
